In a nutshell, we want someone who knows their stuff, and can jump right in and get dirty in the code. Experience with front end UI/UX work (CSS) is a major plus. If you are missing some specifics but you know your stuff and pick up new skills fast, then we'll want to hear from you.
Job Description and responsibilities:
Meetcha.com is seeking a Ruby on Rails Web Developer to assist in constructing the next phase of our web application. We are developing a new dating site merging the traditional online dating functionalities with offline event tools to cater to the 40+ market. The Ruby on Rails Web Developer will be an integral part of the team as we look to continue to grow our market share. We offer all of the standard benefits including medical, dental, parking/transit, and 401k. We also offer 3 weeks vacation, and we actually encourage you to take it, unlike some places. We work late on Wednesday nights (company dinner provided) and work a half-day on Fridays, for a nice extended weekend. Salary is commensurate with experience and is competitive for the greater-Boston area.

Requirements:
- Real-world experience building consumer-facing applications with Ruby on Rails
- Knowledge of front-end web technologies: XHTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery), AJAX
- Knowledge of MySQL and relational database design
- Working knowledge of Subversion
- Comfortable in a Linux environment
- Experience with Solr a plus
- Strong documentation abilities
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to communicate well and work with a talented team
