Requirements

* Excellent programming skills in at least one object-oriented language
* "Disciplined approach to testing from acceptance to unit level tests
* Good understanding of web technologies (HTTP, Apache) and familiarity with Unix/Linux
* Great written communication and documentation abilities

* Active Twitter API developer
* Active contributor to open source projects
* Experience in providing a widely-used web service
* Demonstrable experience building and/or consuming web services at scale
* Strong command of web standards, RESTful API design

Job Description and responsibilities:

About this Job Twitter is looking for a new member of our technical staff to focus on development of our API. You should have a passion for providing and improving web services that are used by thousands of developers on a multitude of platforms.

Responsibilities

• Write internet-facing code mostly in Ruby but also in Scala if you like
• Design and implement new APIs and services
• Maintain, refine and extend existing API resources
• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, back-end engineers, and third-party developers
• Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
• Pro-actively look for ways to make Twitter better
