• University degree or graduate of a recognized post secondary program in software engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred. • 2-3 years of professional experience building user-friendly applications. • Extensive C++ programming experience. • Strong expertise in designing and implementing graphical user interfaces under Windows. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure within a multidisciplinary team. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Superior time management and organizational skills. • Excellent attention to detail.

Job Description and responsibilities:

BioWare, a member of the incredible family of EA studios, has created some of the world's best-selling titles including the award-winning Baldur's Gate, the Neverwinter Nights series, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Original BioWare-created IPs include the critically acclaimed Mass Effect, the epic fantasy RPG Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. BioWare Austin is hard at work on the massively multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

BioWare Austin is looking for a Contract Gameplay Programmer for our Austin team. NOTE: This is an onsite contract/temporary position; no relocation assistance provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designs, develops, writes, tests and implements authoring tools and workflow improvements for game designers and artists. • Works with designers, artists and other personnel involved in the development of products as required. • Enhancements to existing game systems. • Writes clear, maintainable, portable code. • Accurately estimates his/her schedules and delivers high quality work products to that schedule. • Risk Management – Anticipates, identifies, analyzes, prioritizes, mitigates and communicates risks related to authoring tools.
